About ASTR

The Australian School of Traditional Reiki was founded by Marianne Rink. It was felt that there was a need to have a school which upheld high standards and followed in the tradition of our teachers. Since the schools conception we have worked towards establishing Reiki as a mainstream natural therapy. Part of that work has been gaining government recognition for all our courses nationally, which was achieved in 1996.

Although the school is based in Brisbane Australia, we are conducting seminars throughout Australia, England, Germany, and the USA. All of our teachers have a broad and comprehensive understanding of energetic sciences, as well as many other therapies and treatments. We are dedicated to our students and the ancient traditions of the healing art and self-development system, which has come to be known as Reiki.

We feel there is certain basic information that should always be imparted to students of Reiki, to give them a sound understanding of the strength and nature of Reiki. The Australian School of Traditional Reiki maintains a link to and between our practitioners by regular publication of a newsletter. Encouragement is given to all practitioners to regularly meet and discuss ongoing developments in the Reiki system. Part of our commitment to our students is that we, the teachers, are always available to our students for support and encouragement. We also conduct regular group meetings, so as to keep personal contact with our students, should they wish to.
