Traditionally the knowledge of Reiki has been handed down in degrees or stages. The methods taught build on one another from level to level. The levels presented here are the levels as taught by ASTR.

We recognise the importance that you have to grow into your understanding, and build your receptiveness to the flow of the Reiki energy. The way we present each 'level of attainment' in our courses reflects and supports that you need time for personal development and growth to reach a 'readiness' to continue and further your studies in this 'energy science'.

In Level One, which is a two day workshop taught over 8 hours each day, you receive 4 attunements to the Reiki energy, thereby giving you access to the Reiki energy for the rest of your life. Also during the course you are given lectures on Reiki: how it works, the many uses of Reiki, the chakra system, how to set up as a professional practitioner and the History. Extensive practical training is also given during the course i.e. self-treatment and the giving and receiving of treatments, as well as Group Reiki etc.

By the time you have completed the workshop, you know where the Reiki energy comes from, how it works in and through you and how to use it. This course is the foundation on which the subsequent levels build. It is important that you gain an understanding of this in your practice of Reiki, should you choose to continue your studies into the advanced levels of Reiki.

Attending a Level One Seminar is a simple procedure, requiring the filling out of a registration form and turning up on the day. No prerequisite knowledge is needed to attend.
